Um... Guys?

"But if Green Lantern uses his power, the mountain's curse will destroy them all !"

Kinda looks like GL is already using his power. Guess this was the one day Ollie forgot to pack the "Three Pairs of Skis Arrow".
By the way, this lovely cover was rendered by Jose Luis Garcia Lopez- praised be his name!

A little Alex Toth

Even though Green Arrow made only one appearance on the Super Friends, he still gets to appear in this nifty Super Friends comic (long with several other JLA-ers who never made Saturday Morning) By Alex Toth and E. Nelson Bridwell (The E. is for exposition).

Unfortunately, G.A. is mostly hidden behind Black Canary, who takes up a big chunk of the foreground. On the plus side, Black Canary takes up a big chunk of the foreground.

Not surprisingly, Marvin is into cosplay.

Chili Time!

The air is turning c
ooler, football season has started and I don't know about you, but Fall always puts me in the mood for chili.

You know who else likes chili? Green Arrow. In fact, he likes chili so much, it developed into a sort of running gag.

Below I've attached the official "Ollie's Stupendous Chili" recipe. Feel free to modify it to meet your needs or tastes.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds lean sirloin chunks
  • 2 tbsp of cumin
  • 2 tbsp of paprika
  • 1 tbsp of cayenne
  • 1 cup minced onion
  • ½ cup of chopped green pepper (optional)
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 ½ tsp of salt
  • ½ of dried basil, crushed
  • 1 tbsp California chili powder (hot)
  • 1 tbsp Gebhardt chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Hot New Mexico chili powder
  • 1 16 oz. can of tomatoes cut up
  • 2 8 oz. cans of tomato sauce
  • 2 16 oz. cans of dark red kidney beans partially drained
  • 1 tsp of brown sugar
  • Tabasco sauce to taste
  • ½ cup water

Garnish:

  • Grated Cheese (cheddar)
  • Oyster crackers or saltines
  • Chopped onions

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, brown ground beef and spices together until flavor blends well.
  2. Drain fat.
  3. Add onion, green pepper and garlic and cook until soft.

Green Arrow is the MAC !

The cover of Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane #29 sort of says it all. Green Arrow has, over the years developed sort of a reputation as-shall we say- a ladies' man. I mean, Black Canary left her parallel Earth to come get with that! Add to that the fact that G.A. could form an entire super team made up of his illegitimate offspring and well, let's just say that rep isn't entirely undeserved.

As a regular feature, I will occasionally post random panels that highlight the romantic side of our hero's nature. Here's the first:
